Stayed at Metropole for weekend in November. Nice things were: - Nice bedroom, reasonable size, well furnished though shower took some getting used to and some time to get hot water! - Very friendly, helpful staff! - Great location for shopping! - Good Value! more

I phoned the hotel to book a room as I was in the City on business for a night. I was offered an upgrade to a Junior Suite so I thought that would be great. On arrival the hotel has that old world feel to it but lacks the grandure that other hotels seem to acheive with ease, very sparse... more

When i booked i emailed the hotel and requested an upgrade to an executive room with a river view, we were given the room upgrade but not the view, this was a mistake of someone who no longer works there, but the receptionist was very apologetic. The view was of MacCurtain street and was quite noisy but for 2 nights... more

I arrived at the hotel in a hurry for a Halloween party. I was greeted by an unpleasant receptionist who needed to brush up on her customer service skills. I rushed to my room in a packed tiny lift and I ran in the door of my hotel room to find a couple in my bed... rather embarrassing moment for... more

First night was disapointed but thought I was unlucky so was prepared to give the benefit of the doubt, however see below: The Positives: Good location, 5 minute walk to town centre Parking nearby and only 5 euro per night Friendly staff The Negatives Rooms... more

I stayed here on business for 3 nights in Sept. The room was tiny, I know I was a solo traveller but it was a rabit hutch. The leisure area was very good. The food was very average, and again only sandwiches from room service after 9.30pm. Hotels need to cater more for business people working late and would still... more

This hotel is not as bad as I thought it would be judging by others reviews. The hotel is ok. Granted a single room is a little pokey, but it was clean, tidy and recently refurbished. The breakfast was ample- good choice on the buffet and the evening meal was ok. If you are paying 79Euro a night as I... more
