We spent one week at the Samsara. This was our first time. There were 6 of us, 4 adults and 2 children. We stayed in two seperate oceanview rooms. I was very pleased with the whole experience. I think you get what you pay for, and the rooms were very nice, though not top of the line. Shortage of towels... more

When I travel to Negril it is common for me to stay in more that one hotel. I stayed at the “Samsara Cliffs Resort” from December 6-9, 2008. It was my third stay this hotel. The thing I like best about Samsara is its location. Near by there is a good small market named the L&M (aka M&L) and you... more

I stayed at Samsara 12/11 through 12/14 which was more than enough time for me to realize that I would not visit there again. I checked in slightly early and my room was ready. I was shocked when I was brought to my room...deluxe ocean view..or that is what they described it as. I do believe that my mouth was... more

While driving to Samsara my first thought was I hope our hotel isn't on this road as the hotels along this strip seemed to be of a certain (low) quality for my taste. Sadly I was disappointed. We checked in early though our room was not ready so we went to have lunch. My boyfriend and I are' foodies' as... more

We have just returned from a week at the Samara Resort in Jamaica. We stayed in the big green house (Superior Oceanfront) which was nothing special, but very clean and spacious - I would say good value for the money! The hotel grounds are very nice, but they did sustain some damage from Hurricane Paloma. While we were there, they... more

I visited Negril 12/5-12/9-08 and stayed at Samsara. I have stayed here for the past 7 years and it is the best place for the money and serenity you can get in the West End! Many upgrades have been done since last year Decemeber 07 and all I can say is don't miss out by not lodging at Samsara. Great... more

I booked an oceanview room at the Samsara for a one-night stay with my husband. The price was $77.00. On the day we checked in, I requested another room with two beds since my daughter and her husband were with us and we were both leaving the following morning. We were charged an additional $48.00. APPALLED was my reaction when... more

In our opinion this is the most horrible "hotel" on the planet Earth Most of the "reviews" we read about this place appear to be false! The pictures you see are nothing like the place actually is The sea was very rough almost all the time and very very dangerous The cliffs are very dangerous If you are lucky enough... more

When I arrived at Samsara, 11/8, I had to be re-routed to the Bungalow hotel because the hurricane Paloma that hit Cuba, had an effect on the Jamaican West End. Samsara was hit pretty hard, took the bar out to sea, took there new gift shop out to sea, ruined 3 of the ocean view cottages, I mean they were... more

Management response from

Thanks John for your trip report. The management of Samsara thanks all the people who sent heartfelt messages after the recent weather related Hurricane Paloma. I thought I'd post a real-time status report for those interested. Although there was some damage to the pillar houses and gardens, our team is well-versed in the clean-up, repair routine. Three of the Pillar...
